Production Contax AX test.

The Contax programmed exposure selected an aperture around Ä8-9.5 compared to the Ä4-5.6 and faster shutter speed given by the Minolta; even this, however, is not enough to conceal the fact that the sand is sharp while the dog's face has just moved beyond the ideal point of focus. What counts in any camera is the kind of result it actually produces with minimal human intervention.
Arguing that the settings of each camera should have been over-ridden, that manual preset focus and timed shutter release should have been used, holds no water. If the cameras do not produce absolutely perfect focus on the subject, they are not doing the job correctly - and this test shows that the Contax falls no further from the mark than the Dynax.
